UltraClear
Plus
Metabolic detoxification for imbalanced detoxifiers

UltraClear
PLUSTM Monograph
UltraClear PLUS is a fortified, hypoallergenic, all-vegetarian, powdered
beverage mix designed to provide nutritional support for individuals who may have
heightened nutritional needs related to proper support of detoxification processes.
Functional detoxification impairment may result when there is an imbalance due to uneven
activity between the bodys phase I cytochrome P450 systems and phase II conjugation
pathways. This imbalance may be due to genetic predisposition, history of chronic nutrient
insufficiency, and/or history of toxin overload. UltraClear PLUS may be useful for such
individuals as part of a metabolic clearing or detoxification program.
UltraClear PLUS is the same pleasant-tasting, easily digested and
absorbed powdered beverage mix as UltraClearŽ, with the addition of a number of accessory
nutrients to nutritionally support detoxification. It is formulated with a patented,
low-allergy-potential rice protein concentrate, blended with high-molecular-weight rice
dextrins as a carbohydrate source and medium-chain triglycerides as a source of readily
metabolized lipids. UltraClear PLUS is fortified with a specific blend of United States
Pharmacopoeia (U.S.P.) grade vitamins, minerals, and accessory nutrients. When mixed in
water, UltraClear PLUS provides an isotonic, balanced supplement or meal replacement
beverage.
Who would benefit from using UltraClear PLUS?
UltraClear PLUS was designed for individuals with imbalances in their
detoxification profiles. Possible imbalances include the following: normal phase I
activity and low phase II activity; high phase I and low or normal phase II activity; and
low phase I and low phase II activity. Generally, UltraClear PLUS is intended to provide
nutritional support for individuals with
 | Chronic fatigue syndrome |
 | Multiple chemical and/or environmental sensitivity |
 | Fibromyalgia |
 | Alcohol and chemical dependency |
 | Food allergy |
 | Arthralgia and myalgia |
Why should you take UltraClear PLUS?
 | UltraClear PLUS contains important nutrients, such as vitamins B2, C, and
A, and minerals zinc, copper, selenium, and magnesium, which support cellular
detoxification pathways.1,2 |
 | UltraClear PLUS also contains specific enriched levels of balanced
conjugation nutrients to provide increased nutritional support for phase II
detoxification. These include glutathione, taurine, sodium sulfate, and glycine. |
 | UltraClear PLUS contains liver-protective phytonutrients, vitamins, and
minerals to promote hepatic antioxidant activity. These include catechins, vitamins A, C,
and E, beta-carotene, and the minerals manganese, copper, and zinc. |
 | UltraClear PLUS is formulated from a low-allergy-potential rice protein
concentrate made from a special patented process that ensures consistent quality. |
 | UltraClear PLUS contains no dairy, lactose, gluten, wheat, yeast, soy,
egg, artificial coloring or flavoring, or animal products. It is, therefore, an ideal
beverage to use in managing and uncovering symptoms related to food allergy/intolerance. |
Features:
 | 46 percent of calories from carbohydrate (blend of rice syrup solids and
rice protein concentrate) |
 | 37 percent of calories from a patented rice protein concentrate augmented
with the first and second limiting amino acids for increased biological value |
 | 17 percent of calories from fat as medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) and
high oleic safflower oil |
 | Mixes easily into water or juice |
 | Does not contain gluten, wheat, corn, yeast, soy, egg, dairy, stimulants,
artificial coloring, artificial flavoring, or animal products |
Key Ingredients:
 | Catechins from decaffeinated green tea concentrate may help defend
against increased hepatic oxidative stress. These unique polyphenolic compounds appear to
modulate the risk of carcinogenesis and mutanogenesis from environmental agents by
interacting with the P450-dependent mixed-function oxidase enzymes.3 |
 | L-glutathione is a tripeptide that functions as a xenobiotic
detoxifier and major component of the body's antioxidant defenses. As an antioxidant,
glutathione may directly scavenge free radicals and can act as a cosubstrate in enzymatic
alteration of hydrogen peroxide and lipid hydroperoxides.4 |
 | Glycine is provided in enhanced amounts for support of glycine
conjugation and glutathione synthesis. Glycine is an important amino acid necessary for
phase II conjugating reactions.5 Glycine is also part of the tripeptide glutathione, which is
an important antioxidant and xenobiotic detoxifier. |
 | Taurine plays an important role in the biotransformation of
xenobiotics through phase II conjugation reactions. Supplemental taurine, therefore, may
be important in impaired detoxification.6 |
 | Sodium sulfate is an inorganic source of sulfate. Rate-limiting
enzymatic steps may be impaired in the process of sulfoxidation in which sulfur-containing
amino acids are converted to inorganic sulfate. Inorganic sulfate must be available for
sulfation conjugation activity.7,8 |
 | N-acetylcysteine in additional amounts may be necessary for
increased glutathione synthesis. Aside from its role as an antioxidant, glutathione is an
important molecule in the detoxification and excretion of many xenobiotics and
metabolically produced oxidizing agents.9,10 |
 | Pantothenate (Vitamin B5) is provided in enhanced amounts. B5 has
been shown necessary for support of acetylation, amino acid conjugation, and CoA
synthesis.11 |
 | Low-allergy-potential, fortified, rice protein concentrate: The
rice protein concentrate is produced by a special patented process.12 The resulting rice
protein concentrate has been shown by competition ELISA assays to be of lower allergy
potential than normal rice.13 This patented rice protein concentrate is fortified with the
first and second limiting amino acids threonine and lysine, resulting in a complete,
high-quality, and easily digestible vegetable protein14 |
